DIYbio at ASU is a student-led organization dedicated to exploring the emerging and transformative field of synthetic biology, a discipline with the power to revolutionize medicine, sustainability, and bioengineering. Despite its enormous potential, synthetic biology remains underrepresented at ASU. Our mission is to change that by creating opportunities for students to explore synthetic biology through hands-on experience, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement.
- Gain practical lab experience through guided, long-term research projects - Build skills in molecular biology, data analysis, and scientific communication - Connect with academic mentors, industry professionals, and guest speakers - Participate in outreach events and public science communication - Join a welcoming, innovative, and tight-knit student community! Membership in DIYbio is open to all students enrolled in at least three (3) semester hours of University credit at ASU.
