Week 2 Debrief
Thank you all for those that were able to join us yesterday and apologies for the snafu with the Zoom links! For those that were able to join us I appreciate the valuable insight you provided on what does ASU do to make you feel more connected to the university OR how could ASU improve upon making you feel connected to the university during our ice breaker.
We pushed out a lot of great upcoming events and opportunities for our military-connected students. Below are some of the highlights, for more information on any of these events please be sure to get connected with the Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement-ASU. They are a tremendous resource for all military-connected students, whether they are spouses/children, veterans, dual-military, gold star family members, or currently serving service members.
Vietnam Veteran Gratitude Video: We are still asking you all to submit 15-20 second videos thanking Vietnam Veterans for their service, not only to their nation but also their service to us as a military community. Please take 10-15 minutes out of your day to thank those that paved the way for us. Veterans, service members, and families are all invited to send in a video to ovmae@asu.edu before 15 September. Video submission puts your name in a drawing for a $50 Amazon Gift Card.
Discord: We're on Discord! Join our community of military connected students and be able to chat about school work, sports, games, and more. We are still building it up but we value any and all feedback you have as we build it! Link to join is HERE.
Along with our club, OVMAE is also on Discord! Join their community as well to keep tabs on everything going on at OVMAE as well as to be able to join them for their R&R Nights (3rd Wednesday of every month 4:30-6:30 pm (AZ Time) in their office and soon online!). Link to join is HERE.
We wanted to take a moment to thank Wanda Wright and Stacey Eastwood for joining our meeting last night and taking some of their time to explain what all their office can do for all of us! I forgot to record the session so apologies, however, they are incredibly friendly and welcoming people and if you have any question for them they would gladly help you out! So either shoot them an email at ovmae@asu.edu or swing by their downtown campus location and say hello!
Lastly, please take a moment to fill out our survey for what time period would be the best for you for our meetings! If you don't voice your opinion we can't get the most accurate picture, voting will end at the end of this week and the official meeting time will be published.
Have a great week and Go Devils!
