About Us

The purposes of SWAT at West Valley shall be to a) bring focus to the many views and ideas presented by the West Valley campus students of social work and related fields, b) advance the causes and values of the School of Social Work on West Valley campus, c) allow social work majors, to reach out to community leaders within the profession/field of social work, and d) educate the student body, staff, and faculty at ASU West Valley about the study, practices, and profession of social work.

Members Benefits

SWAT members gain valuable opportunities for networking, leadership, and professional growth. Benefits include access to guest speakers, workshops, and site visits with local social work agencies. Members can build their resumes through advocacy events, volunteer opportunities, and leadership roles. The club also offers academic support, peer connection, and resources for internships and graduate school preparation, all while making a positive impact on the campus and community. Membership in the Social Work Advancement Team (SWAT) is open to all students enrolled in at least three (3) semester hours of University credit at ASU.
