Curious about maps, GIS data, spatial analysis, or mapping resources at ASU? Join us for a fast-paced, one-hour introduction to the ASU Library’s Map and Geospatial Hub.
We’ll show you where to begin your search for geospatial resources using our two core platforms: ASU GeoData — your gateway to raw GIS data layers — and the Map and Geospatial Hub 3D Explorer, our award-winning interactive digital twin of the physical map library and its rich collections.
You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Hub manages ASU’s academic ArcGIS Online ecosystem, including user dashboards, account roles, and the distribution of specialized Esri licenses.
We’ll highlight several innovative projects at the intersection of cartographic and geospatial data management, geography, history, and visualization. We’ll briefly demonstrate our work expanding digital twin technology across the ASU Library system.
We’ll wrap up by showing you exactly how to submit a Map and Geo Service Request for data, maps, imagery, or software support. You’ll leave knowing not only what we do, but how to work with us and collaborate.
Whether you’re brand new to GIS or looking to go deeper, this session will point you in the right direction with the Map and Geospatial Hub.
Please note: This event takes place on March 18 and repeats on April 7.
