Barrett Gold Standard Awards (Downtown)

Event Description: Barrett Downtown is hosting our annual Gold Standard Awards — a night for students, staff, and faculty to come together and celebrate the incredible accomplishments that made Fall 2025 through Spring 2026 truly golden!

After the awards, stick around for an epic dance party featuring a live set from a Downtown Phoenix DJ! Barrett students can bring any ASU friend as their guest — so grab your crew and get ready to celebrate in style.

Outstanding Thesis: This award will be given to a student or student group who has gone above and beyond in their thesis project. Barrett students are leaders in the community and these students have promoted the Barrett name by being a leader in their respective discipline.

Dean's Award (Seniors Only): This award will be given to a student who has demonstrated a consistent dedication to Barrett Downtown during their tenure at Arizona State University and is anticipating graduating in Spring 2025.

The Gold Standard: As Barrett is the “gold standard” among honors colleges in the nation, this award will be given to a student who has demonstrated a consistent dedication to academic achievement, service to, and leadership within, Barrett.

Outstanding First-Year Leadership Award:

This award is presented to a first-year student that has demonstrated excellence in The Human Event, excelled in their honors education, and displays exemplary leadership within the ASU/Barrett community and/or beyond.

The Barrett Catalyst Award: acknowledging students who inspire positive change within the Barrett community

The Phoenix Catalyst Award: acknowledging students who inspire positive change within the Phoenix Downtown community

The Pinnacle award: for achieving the highest level of excellence in academics, service or creativity

Above and Beyond (Seniors Only): This award will be given to the student with the most Barrett Honors Credits Earned.

Student Involvement: This award will be given to a student who has quickly integrated themselves into the Barrett community and become embedded in the Barrett culture through involvement with Barrett and ASU organizations.

Innovation Award: This award will be given to a student whose innovative thoughts and actions have enhanced their academic coursework, research/internship, and/or co-curricular involvement.

Top Researcher (Deep Diver): student who has significantly contributed to innovative ASU research

Creative Spark: for a student who has created works of great artistic merit
