The Critical Reading Journal Club is a supportive space for students who want to build confidence with dense or challenging texts. Whether you're new to academic reading or simply want to strengthen your interpretive skills, this club teaches how to break down arguments, identify claims and evidence, and understand an author’s structure and assumptions.

We focus on how to read rather than what to read, helping members approach theory, research, and interdisciplinary scholarship with clarity and curiosity.

Through guided discussion, annotation strategies, and accessible methods, participants learn to enter scholarly conversations with confidence.

Ideal for: new readers, interdisciplinary learners, humanities and social science students, and anyone seeking to improve their academic reading skills.
