About Us

The mission of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is "to substantially increase the representation of Indigenous peoples of North America and the Pacific Islands in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) studies and careers." As a member of AISES, you become part of a nationwide movement that empowers Indigenous students and professionals to succeed in STEM while staying rooted in their cultural identity. The organization is built on the values of community, leadership, education, and cultural preservation—ensuring that members have both the tools to thrive academically and professionally, and a supportive space to celebrate who they are.

Members Benefits

Being a member of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) opens the door to a wide range of academic, professional, and cultural opportunities for Indigenous students in STEM. Members have the opportunity develop leadership through conferences, training programs, but through mostly chapter involvement. AISES provides valuable career support thought its strong network of corporate, government, and tribal partners. Members can connect with representatives from major STEM companies, explore job opportunities, and receive mentorship from Indigenous professionals who have walked similar paths. Events like the National Conference and regional gatherings give students the chance to network, attend workshops, and participate in cultural celebrations, all within a supportive and empowering environment. Most importantly, AISES fosters a strong sense of community. It offers a space where students can embrace their Indigenous identity while pursuing success in STEM.
