About Us
The purpose of the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) is to promote Vietnamese identity, understand the Vietnamese culture, foster community, and develop young leaders at ASU through various social activities, educational meetings, and events. VSA aims to instill cultural pride by sharing and immersing its members in the diverse ethnic traditions as well as teach its members the history of Vietnam and the history of Vietnamese Asian Americans. Not only does this organization embrace the beauty and diversity of Vietnamese culture, but it aims to acknowledge and support the different experiences and perspectives that each student has as everyone comes from different ways of life. With this understanding, VSA also offers support through fundraisers and community outreach to Vietnamese communities that are struggling. This outreach is done through connecting with more national, Vietnamese, identity organizations such as the Union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations (UNAVSA) and South West Union of Vietnamese Student Associations (SWUVSA).
