Student Experience

The W. P. Carey School of Business offers a variety of leadership, scholarship, and professional opportunities to make your college experience more valuable — as well as many student clubs and organizations and social, cultural, and professional activities.

Leaders Academy

The W. P. Carey School of Business recognizes academic excellence through the W. P. Carey Leaders Academy and takes the college experience to the next level. The Leaders Academy is comprised of academically motivated and talented students, including all Business Honors students (those who are concurrently enrolled in the W. P. Carey School and Barrett, The Honors College). Leaders Academy students have access to many exclusive academic, professional, and social opportunities that will help build a network for success during and after college.

Leadership Opportunities

The W. P. Carey School of Business strives to develop strong student leaders who become ethical and impactful leaders in business. We encourage you to engage with the school and campus communities as early as possible and throughout your entire college experience. Leadership opportunities stress the importance of communication skills, develop teamwork and collaboration skills, offer opportunities for critical thinking, and enhance time management and prioritization skills — skills that are consistently sought by employers.

Business School Council

The Business School Council is an organization comprised of business students dedicated to enhancing the academic and extracurricular experiences of those within the W. P. Carey School of Business. Our responsibilities include presiding over the W. P. Carey School of Business student clubs and organizations, orchestrating fun and engaging events for business students, and providing numerous opportunities for professional development. For more information visit the Business School Council website.

W. P. Carey Clubs & Orgs

The W. P. Carey of Business has 40+ business-affiliated clubs and organizations for students. Clubs and organizations provide unique experiences and opportunities to students in order to grow professionally, personally and socially. Joining an organization, serving on its executive board, and/or participating in programming are effective ways to increase the value of your education. These activities provide students with real-world and meaningful experiences and are great to enhance learning beyond the classroom. Overall, joining a club or organization in college enriches the college experience, helps students develop a well-rounded skill set, and prepares them for future personal, academic, and professional endeavors.

Business Ambassadors

Business Ambassadors are engaging and proud student leaders who represent the W. P. Carey School of Business at events and programs, both on and off campus. Through information sessions, workshops, and a variety of events, Ambassadors build positive relationships with prospective and continuing students, parents, faculty, staff and the community.
